Vermont Homebrew Supply

Thank you for your support of our small business!

Update: Curbside or Inside?

We have unlocked the door! Sort of. If it's at all possible to call in your order please do. We can minimize your time in the store and keeps us all safe. If the weather isn't too bad we might lock the door and keep doing the window service. But as winter kicks in that will become a less desirable option. So if the door is unlocked, You can come into the store now but there are some changes.

  1. You must wear a mask. We will too!

  2. You must sanitize your hands. It's on the counter.

  3. We have a sign in sheet. If one of us gets sick we will call you. We promise not to call or share any information.

  4. Please, just 1 brewer at a time. No children. The toys aren't here anymore :-(

  5. We will crush your grain and pull hops & yeast for you.

  6. Please continue to bring in your malt buckets for refills. (we still pour!) If you want to bring in a shopping bag, please do. Happy to minimize use of paper bags.

  7. If all this is too much, please call in your order. We can have everything put together, you can pay over the phone.

  8. If you are spending $5. or less we still like cash.

Curbside pick-up is working out!

  1. Just give us a call, and we will put everything together for you. 655-2070

  2. Provide credit card information over the phone, so you don’t even have to enter the store.

  3. Knock on the window for pick up.

  4. We also accept cash and checks. If you are spending less than $5, we appreciate cash. Thank you!

Please note that we have shortened our weekday hours:

  • Monday-Saturday: 10-5

  • Sunday: 11-3

Thank you for your patience and wonderful attitudes throughout these changes.

Our new email

As part of an ongoing project to improve back of the house tech, we will be using a new email. Almost like the old one:

(this is my anti spammer strategy. A new email in box without any spam is a real delight!)

Our new Website

This is a work in progress! Hopefully it will become a helpful place for you to look, find, and learn about Vermont Homebrew and how we can help you. Thanks for your continued support and smiles during the last year. I think I speak for all of us homebrewers when I say, at the end of a long day, a homebrew tastes pretty good!

Cider Crush at Chapin Orchard

Happy to announce Dates & Times for this year's Crush. If you are new to cidermaking then here are the details. Chapin Orchard in Essex Center has been offering a customized crush of cider apples for the last 25 years. We handle the sign up at Vermont Homebrew Supply and you will go to the orchard with your sanitized fermenter and fill up & pay there. This year the Crush is October 23rd & 24th. Hours are 10-6 on Friday and 9:30-2 on Saturday. Please use a credit card. Cider is $6.99 per gallon. We will take sign ups until we reach capacity. We will ask for your phone number (in case you don't show up), how many gallons, which day you want to pick up and whether or not you want us to order a liquid yeast for you. This tart & tannic blend is the start of making a fabulous hard cider. Please come to the window and we can provide ideas, yeast, additives, oak chips, etc. We also have a Hard Cider Made Easy booklet available to sell. Please call us at 655-2070 to sign up.
